Netflix and Silverlight 4

Dan Kincaid posted a tip on his blog about how to fix Silverlight 4 error N8156-6013. Apparently if you have Windows 7 x64 and Silverlight 4 things are not working right.

HP Software Universe 2010

I am in Washington D.C. this week attending HP Software Universe 2010. The event is being held in the Gaylord National Hotel located at National Harbor in Maryland. The sessions don’t seem as interesting this year as they did last year. There also seems to be fewer of them. I don’t know if it is because of the change of venue (Las Vegas -> Washington D.C.) or because the focus seems to be on goverment and that is just not as sexy.

On a personal note I am going to try really hard to stay on my WW program. I have found a meeting that is close to the hotel where I can do my weigh in. I will just have to be very careful about what I choose to eat while here.

Thanksgiving 2009

On this day of thanks I am thankful that I have a job that keeps me busy, my good health and my families good health, friends to share with and virtual lurkers who hang on my every word.

May all of you be as blessed as I have been this year.

Google hopes they have the Wave of the future

Google is developing a new application called Google Wave. After watching the preview I signed up to be notified of updates. They will be extending access to the preview beyond developers starting on Sept. 30th.

What the F**k is Social Media: One Year Later

So since I am getting my social network life in order I did some searching on the internet. I found a slideshow by Marta Kagan titled What the F**k is Social Media: One Year Later. It is definitely an eye opener.

Hello World

So here is my first post. The obligatory “hello world” statement to check if this thing is turned on and functioning.

I have spent most of yesterday and today online setting up the various social networking sites; LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook and now this blog. I felt I had to plug into the net and crash dive into the sea of social networking. No particular reason, just ‘cuz.

How much of me do I want to expose? What online image of myself do I wish to portray?

I have been online for many years (since 1984) and have had multiple identities. This one is different, this is my name and not a pseudonym. I will be me.
